About the Design

A spiderweb is often built overnight. It’s created primarily through invisible decisions—which thread must remain stable, in what order the sections are built, how much weight it can bear, and at what point it no longer functions. The first reaction to a spiderweb is usually disgust rather than respect for the work that went into it. But with a slight shift in perspective, it’s actually a small yet remarkable miracle that spiders are capable of creating something like this.
