WE HAVE GROWN SO MUCH ON HORROR, THAT WE THINK THERE IS NO OTHER WAY, WHEN THERE IS
Doesn’t it come shocking to you that we, as human animals, are brought up believing that it is normal, natural, and necessary to oppress and kill others for the simple “reason” of our sensual pleasure?
If we’d apply the so-thought “reason” of sensual pleasure to other situations where harm is done to others against their will for someone else’s pleasure, would we too find this morally acceptable or would we fall into outrage and fight it?
So how is it that we accept the exploitation, abuse, torture, confinement, and murder of other animals and call it “normal, natural, and necessary” when it is none of these things?
I think you can agree that it is not normal to artificially impregnate someone against their will, exploit them and kill them for their secretions and flesh.
I think you can agree that it is not natural to breed them by the billions, to then inflict the cruelest mental and physical pain on them and make them an object, a commodity, and a product.
I think you can start to agree that it is far from necessary to kill someone (speaking of nutrients) if we can get the nutrients through plants as well. And we can. So why don’t we?
We are brought up to never question those actions of ours because that’s what we’ve always done. Our habits are our parents’ and grandparents’ habits, passed on from generation to generation, built on violent traditions we don’t even really know the meaning of, and if we would know the meaning we’d probably don’t agree or believe in them.
And why would we ever believe in violence and cruelty done to the oppressed ones? Shouldn’t we all know better by now? Or listen and learn when we are made aware of it? Why do we feel the need to defend the actions we inflict on others that just do not align with our moral system we are also taught? Isn’t that hypocrisy in itself?
