WHAT FREEDOM FOR OTHER ANIMALS FEELS LIKE?
Instead of asking and defining someone else’s perception and feelings of what freedom might mean to them (who are we to judge and decide that anyway?), ask yourself what freedom means to You personally.
Close your eyes now and picture what freedom means to you. What do you see? How do you feel? Who are you with? What are the vibes? How is the air? How are you treated and seen by those around you? What makes you smile when you think about freedom?
Now think strongly about that feeling of personal freedom one more time. Hold those thoughts and feelings. What does it mean to you, like truly mean to you, to be free?
For me, freedom means to be free of oppression of any kind, to be able to decide about my own life, my choices, my body, and my mind.
For me freedom means to be able to move my body, to feel it, and to receive attention and physical and mental healthcare if needed. It means to be respected, to be seen, and to be important as an individual.
Freedom for me means to be happy, to have a light mind and heart, to see and feel positive as well as to recognize and feel the weight of the world and actively work to improve it.
Freedom to me means to be conscious of my own actions, my choices based on my moral belief system but most of all my mindset. For me, it means to open my mind and heart for new information to be able to grow each day to be a better version of myself.
Freedom to me also means giving others the freedom I wish for, while not allowing any space for intolerance. Freedom means that we are all free until all of us are free.
So we better start working on that freedom. Until all cages are empty.
