MICE IN RESEARCH AND VIOLENT TESTING
Mice are mammals with nervous systems similar to our own. It’s no secret that they feel pain, fear, loneliness, and joy just as we do. Their social and gentle traits are in most cases their death sentence after a deliberately inflicted painful and suffering existence.
According to Cruelty Free International, the official numbers say that 2.51 million experiments are conducted on mice. This means that multiple millions of lives are brutally taken for needless and inefficient experiments, studies, and tests. The unreported number of victims is even higher.
Why mice?
Mice are the most commonly used vertebrate species, due to their availability, size, low cost, ease of handling, and fast reproduction rate. They are the preferred species for biomedical research animal models due to their anatomical, physiological, and genetic similarity to humans.
But as many similarities, as we have, many differences are not negligible but are largely ignored by “science.” Just to name a few: life expectancy, life circumstances, anatomy, different responses to various medical conditions, etc.
They are mistreated for research purposes in genetics, toxicology, psychology, medicine, basic research, and other scientific disciplines.
They are mentally and physically traumatized, drilled, forced to inhale dangerous toxins and chemicals, undergo genetic modification, have fluids dripped into their eyes and open wounds, are hooked up to external devices or have them implanted, and the majority of them are murdered after enduring a horrible existence in the labs.
To humans, these sentient individuals are nothing more than a disposable test object to satisfy their curiosity in the name of “science,” “safety,” and “education” funded by the government through uninformed taxpayers.
Animal experiments are violent, inhumane, degrading, oppressive, and simply speciesist! They are unreliable and inefficient because 90% of all animal experiments are not even transferable to humans.
TAKE ACTION NOW!
If you don’t know much about animal testing, I highly recommend you to check out my blog post “The Cruelty and Absurdity of Animal Testing & Experiments” on my website. It is also available in ➸ German.
