VEGAN TATTOOS

From blueprints to razors, ink, disinfectants, care and aftercare products, and tape. There are many things that you should pay attention to when you get a tattoo. Even here you must avoid products and materials of animal origin to stop the violence and exploitation of animals.

Read more about the details in my latest blog post (in German and English)

While the consciousness and awareness of vegan products and materials are constantly rising, we (as the clients) should NEVER assume that vegan materials are standard equipment, only if they are claimed and labeled as such.

It lies in our responsibility to ask and to request them if they’re not provided and labeled as vegan. It also lies in our responsibility to suggest different products and pay extra for them if an artist is willing to adapt to our wishes and needs. Paying extra also goes for more sustainable single-use equipment if the tattoo parlor is working in this direction (which is very commendable).

Yes, keeping track of everything and asking many questions is a possible uncomfortable extra step we have to take, but the results have a big impact on the animals. Do not forget that! Remember that non-human animals value their lives just as much as we value ours. It’s their life and it is your skin.

The inconvenience of asking or choosing another artist stands in no relation at all to the suffering and murder of animals.

Help each other to make better decisions. Support each other in finding the vegan materials and equipment and make it a focus to avoid all animal violence when deciding on your body art. Educate, because after all, it’s the animals who are paying the even higher price: with their life.

This beautiful tattoo of my companion Sems was done by ➸ @friedrich_heyden (recommendation from the heart)! I cannot express my gratitude for it and for Friedrich! Apart from the fact that he works with vegan materials, I feel so well taken care of. His work ethic fascinates me every single time and I admire the thoughts and actions he puts into everything that is important (to me). Thank You for everything and more!
